Enjoy an exquisite red-carpet arrival, African dinner buffet, live music and local community performances, Umoja Excellence Awards, dancing and more as we honor the richness of Black culture and achievements across the greater diaspora in this great state of Nevada.

We gather in the spirit of Umoja—the Swahili principle meaning unity—to commemorate Black History Month and to honor the powerful intersection of African and African American heritage. This celebration is rooted in our shared history, our collective resilience, and the enduring cultural ties that connect the African diaspora across generations and continents.

The Umoja Celebration is more than a gala—it is a space for reflection, recognition, and dialogue. We honor the ancestors whose sacrifices paved the way, celebrate the present-day leaders and visionaries who continue the work, and look ahead to a future shaped by unity, understanding, and collective progress. Through shared dialogue, cultural expression, and community connection, this celebration reflects the strength found in our differences and the power that emerges when we stand together.
